The University of Sannio is organizing, with the Technical Committee 23 “Metrology in Food and Nutrition” of the International Measurement Confederation - IMEKO, the 2nd IMEKOFOODS “Metrology Promoting Objective and Measurable Food Quality and Safety”, which will take place in Benevento (Italy) on 2nd - 5th October 2016.
The general objective is to promote the discussion, the scientific debate and the encounter between the different realities that revolve around the "world of measures", promoting harmonization and integration and addressing the "world of research" to the emerging needs of the civil society and the productive sectors.

A special session on EU Research Infrastructures and networks supporting research in food and nutrition is aimed at promoting the discussion and the exchange of experiences among the existing networks and Research Infrastructures (ESFRI landmarks, active projects and emerging projects) engaged in the "Health & Food" domain.
A specific session dedicated to metrology for food composition analyses "Food Composition Data - how do we assess quality?" will be organized in cooperation with EUROFIR.
A special session is focused on the Italian National Cluster “Agrifood”. The new roadmap will be presented and some results obtained from the ongoing projects will be discussed.
